WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes refused to accept that she said the Indiana Fever locker room was toxic and several players would like to leave the organization. The arrival of Caitlin Clark, according to Swoopes, made some players realize they wanted to be on different teams.

X/Twittter user @the_realami noted that multiple players expressed their opinion on Clark by saying good things about her, shutting down Swoopes’ notion, which didn’t sit well with the former player.

“sheryl swoopes tried to say the fevers locker room was toxic & all the players wanna leave just for all of them to come out and basically tell her to shut the hell up 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂,” this fan wrote on Thursday.

Swoopes took offense to this and seemingly denied making such statements.

“Sis…..I ain’t worried about this wanna be! ALL LIES!” Swoopes tweeted earlier today.

However, Caitlin Clark’s fan page @cclarkreport shared a video of Swoopes saying exactly that on Gilbert Arenas’ show.

“There is a lot of other s*** going on that players are like this ain’t where I wanna be,” Swoopes said. “You have players that are very significant on this Indiana Fever team who are like I don’t wanna be here.”

Swoopes made several takes that drew a lot of attention from fans, including saying that Caitlin Clark wasn’t dominant this season despite putting on unique numbers for a rookie.

New Orleans Pelicans star takes a shot at Sheryl Swoopes

New Orleans Pelicans star Dejounte Murray took notice of Sheryl Swoopes’ remarks against Caitlin Clark and used it against her when Bleacher Report highlighted Clark’s list of records in her first season. He left a three-word comment underneath the post, mocking Swoopes and hyping up Clark.

“She’s not DOMINATING,” the 28-year-old Murray wrote while adding numerous laughing emojis to his comment.

Caitlin Clark has been one of the most polarizing players in the WNBA this season, but many think that Swoopes has taken things too far regarding the No. 1 overall pick.

Clark will play her first playoff game tomorrow against the Connecticut Sun, keen to take a crucial Game 1 before heading back to Indiana for the second matchup.

The rookie finished the season averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game, shooting 41.7% from the field, 34.4% from deep and 90.6% from the free-throw line.
