Love Is Blind season 7 just kicked off — and fans are already getting their fill of drama… and awkward reveals!
In the newest batch of episodes from the Netflix hit, fans were introduced to Nick Dorka and Hannah Jiles. The two hit it off in the pods, but Hannah, 27, quickly ended things after being influenced by the other women’s opinions of Nick, 29. When she realized she couldn’t stop thinking about Nick, Hannah opted to give him another shot, and the two later got engaged before meeting in person for the first time.
However, things didn’t go as smoothly as she’d hoped, with Hannah admitting to cameras: “In the pods, he described himself as a football player, bigger, medium build, 5-foot-11, and what he said I don’t think is really truthful.”
“It is making me feel a little bit insecure because I feel like I’m bigger than him… I’m like, a foot taller than him,” she added of the real estate agent. “I’ve never dated someone shorter than me. It’s something new but that’s what this experience is.”
Nick was completely unaware of Hannah’s comments at the time and appeared to be thrilled with his fiancée’s appearance in the reveal. But now, he’s reacting to Hannah’s commentary, telling PEOPLE he was shocked Hannah thought he exaggerated his appearance.
“No, I think I was pretty straight up about my appearance,” he says. “I said I was active, I played football. I told her I was a kicker. So kickers aren’t the biggest, right?”
Despite Hannah claiming she was taller than him, Nick points out: “Hannah’s also 5’9″. I’m 5’11”, so it is not like I’m short, but I feel like she had a pretty good idea of who I was.”
“We try not to talk about looks, right? It’s the connection you’re looking for,” he adds. “But it’s interesting to hear she felt that way.”

Their disconnect about appearance wasn’t the only challenge that Nick and Hannah faced in the first six episodes. Once they jetted off to Mexico for the couples’ getaway, the two butted heads after Nick playfully rode an inflatable duck alongside another female tourist, which bothered Hannah.
“The duck incident was kind of harmless to me. I was just having a good time, but she took it in a different way,” Nick insists of the incident, which Hannah perceived as disrespectful after he was a bit too “touchy” with the other woman, who later began making fun of her.
Hannah also caught Nick by surprise when he discovered her list of bullet points, detailing her concerns about Nick, inside their hotel room.
“It was confusing,” Nick recalls. “I’d gotten done with an interview. I went back to the room and Hannah went to her interview and the note was beside the bed. And so I saw it, and I was a little confused because we had done a good job of talking face to face about any problems or issues we had.”
Acknowledging that “people express themselves in different ways,” Nick notes, “I understood where she was coming from and tried to work on all of those bullet points.”
“I didn’t think it was that big of a deal,” he adds. “But then I started to see her doing those things and harping on those issues and I was trying to work on that for her.”

As for Hannah, she admits she “did not mean to” leave the list out for Nick to find. “That list was a rough draft,” she insists. “I’m the type of person who writes all her emotions down and the little incident of Nick with the lady and that [duck], it wasn’t a big deal but I see things that could potentially be a problem, so these are the red flags maybe or flaws I see.”
“I didn’t get to the green flags yet and I had just wrote in my notebook, put it to the side. It was literally under leaves so you couldn’t see it,” she adds. “And I was going to come back to it, but I did not get the chance, but it’s okay … He found it and I said, ‘Okay, we’re doing this, let’s address it.’ So I addressed it.”
Episode 6 ended with Hannah having a heart-to-heart conversation with Nick, telling him she has “concerns” for their relationship that she wants to “address” before they make it to the altar. After Mexico, the two will head back to Washington D.C., where they’ll move in together and integrate their lives before deciding whether or not to say “I do” on their wedding day.
