Angel Reese’s First Posts After Losing Rookie of the Year to Caitlin Clark Say It All
Caitlin Clark was announced as the Associated Press Rookie of the Year for 2024 on Sept. 22. On Thursday, the WNBA officially named her as the league’s Rookie of the Year as the Indiana Fever star went 2-for-2 for this prestigious individual honor.
Coming in at second place is Angel Reese, who incidentally, actually got one ROTY vote. That one vote denied Clark a unanimous win.
It’s no surprise that it was Clark who bagged the WNBA ROTY title. After all, she had a better year than Reese after the former Iowa superstar led the Fever to their first playoff appearance since 2016.
For her part, though, it appears that Reese remains unfazed by this development. It was business as usual for the Chicago Sky star as she went on with her day after the big news about Clark.
Reese’s social media activity says it all.
On X, formerly Twitter, Reese’s first post after the Rookie of the Year announcement was about a milestone by her podcast, “Unapologetically Angel.” Reese thanked her supporters after reaching 50,000 subscribers on the pod, which, incidentally, was posted just seven minutes after the WNBA declared Clark’s ROTY win on X.
Reese then went on to repost a couple of tweets about her podcast guest in Thursday’s episode, who just happened to be NBA legend Dwyane Wade.
A few hours later, Reese asked her fans on X for some feedback on the episode.
It was pretty much the same case on Instagram as Reese published a couple of posts on her Stories.
Her posts were mostly about Wade and her podcast, her new pair of Reebok kicks and her decision to play Call of Duty again on her PlayStation 5. The former LSU star also shared a post from the Chicago Sky congratulating her for making the WNBA 2024 All-Rokie team.
There is one underlying theme in all of her posts on X and Instagram, and that lies in the fact that she made no mention whatsoever of the Rookie of the Year news. Instead, Reese just went on minding her own business in what turned out to be quite a jam-packed day for the 22-year-old.
