Leela tells Peri the truth about her abuser! Will the wedding go ahead?
It started with a light conversation about a winter wedding. Peri dreamed of a wedding in the snow, with a blazing fire and white scarves like she had seen in the movies. She suggested that they could have the wedding next Christmas, but Abe surprisingly suggested that they could have the wedding this year, even in just 2 weeks. Peri was initially skeptical, thinking that planning a wedding in such a short time was impossible, but she eventually agreed.
The two began to discuss the tasks that needed to be done, such as finding a venue and preparing a guest list. Peri mentioned that she had confirmed an appointment at the bridal shop for 11am. She explained why she needed an appointment, making it clear that only with an appointment would the shop know when to open. She also prepared wedding magazines and brochures for the groom-to-be to look at the dresses.
Peri also thinks about whether they should prepare costumes for the babies in the family, such as Clara, the little girl, as a bridesmaid. She finds the idea cute and wants Clara to participate in the wedding as a flower girl.
However, the conversation gradually turns to more serious and tense topics. Peri brings up the question of whether Clara is the child of Joel, the man she is in love with and is about to marry. Peri is worried and suspicious about the relationship between Clara and Joel. Leela reacts strongly, denying that she had an affair and saying that it was not her fault. Leela admits that she had sex with someone during a drunken night on Theresa’s birthday, but does not remember the details and does not know who it was.
However, she says that she took a DNA sample from Joel’s toothbrush to test, because she wants to be sure that Clara is his child. She says that she wants Clara to have a good father like Joel and doesn’t want the family to be in turmoil if the truth isn’t true. She admits that she made a mistake, but wants to protect the relationship because Clara and Joel both deserve a happy family.
Conflicting between wanting to protect the family and the truth, that they need to let go of the past and protect the people they love. Leela advises Peri and Abe to go ahead with the wedding and avoid escalating the situation.
Peri finally announces that she has found the wedding dress with the help of her boyfriend, who calls the store and asks for an increase in the budget. The two joke about being able to buy two dresses, one for the wedding day and one for the evening party. Leela jokes that the wedding will only be for two weeks and promises not to overspend on the wedding.
A mix of romantic and happy moments about the wedding, but also filled with tension and family conflict. The characters are faced with a major issue of paternity and guilt, while still trying to continue with family life and prepare for an important event. The story clearly shows the complexity of family and love relationships, along with the worries of how to protect everyone’s peace and happiness.
