Tonight’s (December 10) Hollyoaks saw Cleo McQueen discover the truth about two major lies that Abe has been telling her.

Cleo has been held captive by Abe Fielding in his flat for over a year now, while he’s been in a relationship with Peri on the outside.

Abe had told Cleo that he had split up with Peri but the truth is the couple are actually engaged, with their wedding just days away.

On tonight’s episode, Peri unexpectedly came round to Abe’s flat, interrupting his craft hour with Cleo.

With Cleo hidden away, Peri told Abe that they have to move in together, since their wedding is so close. But Abe seemed less than thrilled with the idea, leaving Peri angry and thinking he’s getting cold feet.

Later, Abe was acting strange towards Cleo and she asked him what was wrong, saying he seemed distant. Abe told her that Peri had been harassing him since their break-up and assured Cleo there’s no one he’d rather be with than her.

Abe then got a call from Joel, causing him to rush off and lie to Cleo that he has to go meet a client.

In the bar, Abe realised Joel had thrown him an impromptu stag do and even invited Peri. Abe and Peri then made up, reaffirming their love for each other ahead of the wedding.

Later that night, a drunk Abe arrived home to Cleo. When Cleo told him she couldn’t wait for their wedding, Abe responded: “I love you Peri”.

Abe’s phone then rang and Cleo turned it over to see that it was his mum Marie, who Cleo believed she had killed.

Shocked, Cleo then listened to the voicemail that Marie had left, which confirmed, Marie is not only alive, but that Abe is still engaged to and planning to marry Peri.

How will Cleo react?

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
