Caitlin Clark Effect FUELS HUGE $78 MILLION Indiana Fever Facility! | Fever Attendance Up 320% WNBA
Caitlin Clark Effect Fuels $78 Million Indiana Fever Facility
The Indiana Fever have announced plans for a state-of-the-art $78 million downtown training facility, largely attributed to the transformative “Caitlin Clark Effect.
” Following Clark’s arrival, the Fever have seen record-breaking attendance numbers, skyrocketing by 320%, from approximately 4,000 fans per game in prior seasons to over 177,000 per game.
The upcoming Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center is set to open by the 2027 WNBA season. This 108,000-square-foot facility will include two full-size courts, strength and conditioning spaces, recovery rooms (featuring hydrotherapy and infrared light therapy), as well as podcast and content production studios.
The project will be entirely funded by Fever owner Pacers Sports and Entertainment and will replace the team’s current practice space at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Fever’s growth mirrors a broader trend across the WNBA, as teams like the Las Vegas Aces, Phoenix Mercury, and Seattle Storm have recently invested in purpose-built training complexes. The Aces, owned by NFL figures Mark Davis and Tom Brady, constructed a $35 million facility, setting a precedent for investment in women’s basketball.
Fans have affectionately dubbed the Fever’s new facility “The House That Caitlin Built,” acknowledging Clark’s pivotal role in revitalizing the franchise. Many are calling for the center to be named after Clark, citing her massive impact on attendance, television ratings, and the team’s overall profile.
While some credit this growth solely to Clark, it reflects a larger trend of investment and interest in the WNBA. However, her influence is undeniable, as she continues to be a driving force in elevating the Fever and the league as a whole.
