It’s Valentine’s Day, and it’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since “Love Is Blind” first premiered. Netflix’s bold reality show, where singles chat in closed rooms without seeing each other and even get engaged before meeting in person, has continued to captivate audiences over the years.

Despite its fair share of controversies, including lawsuits and messy divorces, the show has remained relevant and continues to be produced.

On Friday, the eighth season of “Love Is Blind” premiered, taking viewers on a new journey to find love, this time in Minneapolis.

The show’s contestants, hoping to find their soulmate, enter closed rooms where they can chat, share personal stories, and connect emotionally without being influenced by their appearance.

After a period of getting to know each other, those who feel a special connection will move on to propose—all without ever seeing each other.

This season, five couples successfully made it out of the chat rooms and into the engagement stage. However, unlike previous seasons, the episodes this time do not focus on romantic trips after the proposal.

Some contestants even have feelings for multiple people at the same time, creating mildly conflicted situations, but not as tense or dramatic as previous seasons.

However, compared to previous seasons, the developments in season eight are somewhat slow and lack highlights. Some relationships seem to be not really convincing, making the audience feel a lack of connection.

With a running time of more than six hours revolving around the chat room stage, following the whole process sometimes becomes quite lengthy and unattractive.

However, despite mixed reviews, “Love Is Blind” still maintains a certain appeal and continues to be one of the reality shows that audiences are interested in. Will this season bring memorable love stories or just an experiment lacking highlights? Viewers will be the ones to decide.
