‘7 Little Johnstons’: Anna & The Family DRIFT APART After She SKIPS Their Graduations
The graduation party didn’t go as smoothly as I expected, which made me feel uncomfortable. I’m not sure if I want to be around my parents now, as Anna’s pettiness and rather rude attitude are becoming apparent. I don’t understand what’s going on, but I know that there are many important family events coming up, and I hope things will get better.
In the latest episode of “Seven Little Johnstons,” the Johnston family gathered to celebrate Alex and Emma’s high school graduation, as well as Amber and Anna’s college graduation. Before the out-of-town family members arrived, the family of seven held a graduation party, but Anna arrived significantly late.
When she arrived, Anna was wearing a “Stay Salty” T-shirt, which was confusing because she usually wears whatever she likes to family events. The tension grows when the family holds a “Roast and Toast”, where Jonah addresses Anna’s attitude.
Jonah teases Anna that she looks like she’s at a funeral, not a graduation ceremony. Everyone thinks that maybe she still doesn’t really feel the meaning of graduation, but this is her party after all, and she should show excitement, at least since her family is hosting it. However, Anna disagrees, saying that she doesn’t need to pretend to be happy.
Trent and Amber also wonder why Anna doesn’t want to attend the graduation ceremony. Although they are willing to pay for all the expenses to take souvenir photos and attend the ceremony, Anna still refuses. Amber, who graduated from the same school as Anna but majored in a different field, tries to convince her but fails. Despite claiming that she doesn’t want to take graduation photos, Anna still does, surprising and upsetting her parents.
Amber believes that Anna’s attitude stems from her past—growing up in an orphanage before being adopted. They repeatedly encourage Anna to seek therapy, but she refuses.
The strained relationship comes to a head when Anna fails to attend Alex and Emma’s graduation. This hurts them, as Anna has been their constant companion throughout their childhood. Anna explains that she did not want to attend because she was afraid that family conflicts would ruin their happy day.
However, she does show up at the tree planting in honor of her grandfather. Although her presence surprises her family, they are heartbroken that she chooses to keep her distance instead of completing the tree planting together. Anna explains that the tree is important to her because every time she sees it, she remembers her grandfather.
Despite their hurt feelings, Trent and Amber insist that they will never disown their children, but they will not give in unless Anna takes the initiative to change. They believe that to improve the situation, Anna needs to sit down and have a frank talk with her parents.
