Hollyoaks lines up Ro’s heartbreaking plan ahead of special episode
While Marie finally sees the truth.
Hollyoaks spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on E4, which can also be viewed on the Channel 4 streaming service.
Hollyoaks has aired scenes showing Ro Hutchinson make a huge decision ahead of his special episode next week.
The latest instalment of the soap saw Ro hanging out with Kathleen-Angel McQueen, watched on by a jealous Arlo Fielding.
Arlo tried to hurl more verbal abuse at Ro, but Kathleen-Angel stepped in and defended her friend. An annoyed Arlo started to throw food at and attack Ro, and was finally caught in the act by mum Marie.
Speaking in a one-on-one conversation, Arlo told Marie he was just stating his opinion, but she told him she was spewing hatred. She demanded to know why he’s been acting out, only to be met with silence.
That caused Marie to ask: “You’ve been doing this the whole time, haven’t you? Everything that tony and diane have said to me about you is true.
“Have you been lying about Tony? Did he hit you more than once?”
Marie later came into The Hutch and told Tony they needed to talk, having finally learn that Arlo was lying the entire time.
She apologised and admitted her worries that Arlo will turn out like Abe, but Tony assured her he can be steered in the right direction.
“You’re a decent man,” she replied, and proposed the idea of them getting back together.
Ro oversaw them, but left before he saw Tony say it wouldn’t be right if they did. Marie felt dejected, but was still committed to doing the right thing, and told Arlo she’d be taking him to the police station.
An upset Ro is convinced he’s ruined everything, and in a voiceover conversation with his friend Nina, they planned to run away together tomorrow.
The outcome of this decision will be explored on Monday’s (12 May) episode dedicated to Ro, with a trans writer and guest stars featuring.
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
