Sarah Jayne Dunn speaks out after claiming she was sacked from show for ‘refusing to close down OnlyFans account’
Former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn has spoken up after she claimed that she was kicked off the show for keeping her 18+ side hustle going.
Dunn claims she was kicked off the Channel 4 soap back in 2021 after refusing to delete her OnlyFans account, despite playing Mandy Richardson on the show since 1996.
The 43-year-old also said that she thinks she knows who reported her account to the higher ups on the show, which resulted in her leaving the series for good.

Speaking to The Sun last year, she claimed that bosses at soaps now put clauses in stars’ contracts that stop them from making OnlyFans accounts, following her departure from Hollyoaks.
She added that some stars and former stars have got in touch for some pointers as they’re looking to go down the same route as her.
“I know that what happened with all of the soaps is that [actors] had to all sign a new copy of the contract, saying that they wouldn’t do it, that they couldn’t do it,” Dunn said.
“Everyone would have left if they didn’t. I think people are curious but people can’t take that step.”
Her character Mandy was written out of the show as she jetted off to Los Angeles in early 2022, with Dunn explaining: “Apparently there is one person who complained,
“I think I know who that is now, I have my suspicions for sure.”

But following news last month that the soap would reduce the number of episodes it airs per week from five to three, some cast and crew have left the show.
Dunn weighed in on the issue, telling MailOnline about her opinion on the changed: “I did go to the reunion a couple of weeks ago and caught up with a load of people.
“It was really gorgeous to see loads of people that I never got to say goodbye to because obviously my contract was terminated so abruptly.”
Dunn continued: “It also felt quite sad as well because a lot of people have lost their jobs and that breaks my heart.”
In the past, she compared the Hollyoaks set to a regular workplace, where you have the people you get on with and the ones that you don’t, adding that it ‘boils down to their own insecurities and jealousies’.

Her bosses argued that her content on OnlyFans didn’t align with the younger demographic of the show.
But Sarah had been posting similar pictures on Instagram in lingerie regardless, reminiscent of the ones that she had published in magazines in the 1990s.
Despite being on the platform, Sarah says she would never do X-rated content and that her husband fully supports her, explaining: “When I first joined OnlyFans, me and my husband had a conversation about what my limitations and boundaries were.
By now, I think we all know how much money can be made on OnlyFans and it’s probably the number one reason why it’s become so popular.
YouTuber Tana Mongeau appears to be no different from other success stories as she’s shown off the eye-watering amount she has earned from the platform.
For those pretending they’ve never heard of it, OnlyFans sees people pay creators for content, usually pornographic, for a monthly fee.

This can range from X-rated images or videos, fetish content, and various fan requests that are charged as extra.
26-year-old Mongeau, who made her name as a YouTuber as well as on the Cancelled podcast with Brooke Schofield, has since explained why she signed herself up.
“If I’m drunk and throwing a party and wearing a see-through shirt, I might as well monetise that,” the content creator, from Nevada, told The Cut.
“So many men on the internet sexualised me for so long against my own will, and I got to a point where I finally was like, ‘Damn, I might as well make a million dollars off of it’.”
And she certainly was not lying when it comes to her OnlyFans earnings.
Taking to Instagram back in 2020, Mongeau shared a photo of a glass trophy that read: “Congratulations top earner,” with a whopping ‘$3,000,000’ below it.
She captioned the post: “‘Why do u do only fans?’ good month.” (Instagram/@tanamongeau)
In a 2023 interview with Forbes, Mongeau said: “People are going to underestimate you as a woman in pretty much everything, and you’re gonna have to claw your way up a little harder than most men are.
“But I wanted it and I did it, and I don’t give a [redacted] if it’s hard.
“Had I been cookie cutter, I would’ve never amassed any success.
“And had I switched up to a perfectly brand safe business woman … I don’t think I would’ve made it to the point that I’m at.”
However, Mongeau has been involved in a fair few controversies over the years.
Most notably in 2018 when she organised ‘TanaCon’, a convention in response to her alleged feud with VidCon, where she was accused of mistreating creators.

TanaCon was an event in California that promised fans a chance to meet their favourite influencers, but ended in chaos.
Thousands of attendees were reportedly left outside in the heat for hours without proper accommodations, so the event was cancelled on its first day.
In 2020, Mongeau was also was criticised for attending parties during the Covid-19 pandemic, despite the guidelines.
She did apologise for her ‘careless and irresponsible’ decision.
Despite the controversies, Mongeau continues to have a massive following across all of the major social platforms.

A former Skins actor has opened up about how joining OnlyFans ‘changed her life’ after being left with just £300 in the bank.
Character Katie Fitch is synonymous with the E4 drama as Megan Prescott played the teen from 2008 to 2010.
Her real-life twin sister, Kathryn, also starred in Skins as Katie’s twin, Emily.
The show itself ran from 2007 to 2013 and starred the likes of Dev Patel, Nicholas Hoult, Daniel Kaluuya and Kaya Scodelario, of whom all have gone on to have stellar careers.
Skins followed the lives of troubled teens in Bristol, tackling mental health, substance abuse, and relationships.
The series became popular for how real it was as Megan called it ‘a huge cultural moment’.
“Even now, people still compare shows to it like Euphoria. And Gen Z is rediscovering Skins on Netflix and making it relevant again,” the now-33-year-old told Metro.
“I do think it was an important show because it highlighted issues that weren’t being discussed at the time, especially for young people.
Remember her? (Channel 4)
“Obviously, some of it was glamourised but I do think it was a good thing that Skins was made.”
She continued: “It was my dream job and I couldn’t have asked for anything better, it was all I wanted.
“Then after Skins, I had a bit of a reality check where I was like, ‘oh, actually, you don’t just go from a TV show to Hollywood’.
“You’re not set for life, it is hard work and you don’t just get things handed to you.”

While she made cameo appearances in a couple of shows, Megan had to work multiple jobs to keep afloat.
“The second I started stripping there was a lot of internalised misogyny,” she explained after delving in some sex work.
Her career was initially short-lived due to the stigma around the adult industry but everything changed when her manager of her ‘minimum wage’ job refused to give her furlough during the Covid-19 pandemic.

With £300 left in her account, she decided to take her mate’s advice and launch an OnlyFans page.
“It completely changed my life,” Megan said of selling nude photos of herself on the platform.
“I’m autistic so I’m very logical. I needed money for a show that involves a nude scene where I talk about contextual and conditional consent.
“In my mind if I’m going to be naked in the show why would I not use the platform that I’ve been using to get by for the last three years?”
She added: “There’s nothing shameful about sex work. There’s nothing shameful about OnlyFans. But I didn’t have a huge amount of skin in the game. I put my money where my mouth is.
“The world didn’t end. Nakedness is fine. I’ve been simulating sex on television since I was 16. I’m 33 now, I can be naked on the internet, it’s fine.”
