Former Hollyoaks star Ross Adams has delivered a brutally honest opinion during an Instagram Q&A.

Ross’s character Scott Drinkwell departed the Channel 4 soap in July, ahead of huge changes – including a permanent one year time jump – that occurred last month.

Scott was planning to leaving the area for a new life with Freya Calder (Ellie Henry), but soon vanished into thin air, with best pal Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) believing him to have been murdered by Jeremy Blake (Jeremy Sheffield).

Later, we learnt that he’d got a last minute flight and he sent a video message to Freya from his new home in Spain.

The rushed story received some negativity from fans who wanted him to have a more substantial final plot.

In response, Ross replied: ‘It wasn’t the exit I wanted for him but I’m so grateful to have played him’, pairing it with a heart broken emoji.

Following an outpouring of love, he’s followed it up with an Instagram story thanking viewers for their support.

‘As I sit here with fluffy hair drinking my morning coffee, I am so completely overwhelmed with the outpouring of love I’ve had since Scott’s exit’ he wrote.

‘You’re all very lovely. Thank you.’

The actor will next be on our screens in Channel 5 musical drama The Good Ship Murder, alongside fellow soap stars Shayne Ward, Catherine Tyldesley and Claire Sweeney.

Actor Ross Adams answers a fan question on Instagram, as to whether he misses Hollyoaks. He replies 'thank you, I miss how it used to be but change is good.'

Ahead of his new role, Ross hosted a question and answer sticker on his Instagram story, where he revealed he would like to join EastEnders – on the condition that he got to be related to the ever iconic Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).

Someone asked ‘Are you missing Hollyoaks? Because we miss you!!’ to which he gave a very candid response.

Whether or not he’s referring to missing his old life, or if the comment was in regards to the huge changes we’ve seen on-screen it isn’t quite clear.

Several village favourites have departed, reducing the cast number significantly – and there are now 2 less episodes broadcast each week.

As a result of the time jump, some stories were vastly changed.
