Hollyoaks fans ‘threaten Ofcom’ as they ‘work out’ Leela’s baby daddy real identity

Hollyoaks viewers are convinced they’ve “worked out” who got Leela Dexter pregnant.

The beloved character, played by Kirsty-Leigh Porter, is rushed to the hospital next week when her waters break unexpectedly while she’s with Abe Fielding (Tyler Conti), the estranged brother of her husband Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed).

The firefighter was revealed to be pregnant after the Channel 4 soap fast-forwarded a year into the future. Leela is anxious about her upcoming hospital induction, but Joel quickly comforts her, assuring her that everything will be alright.

However, the ex-priest’s focus soon shifts when he receives a voicemail from Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin), asking him to leave her alone. As viewers know, Cleo is currently being held captive by abuser Abe in his flat, while her family and friends believe she’s in Bali.

The voicemail causes Leela to become enraged, and she kicks Joel out for contacting his ex. Before she can be induced, Leela’s waters break and Abe accompanies her in the ambulance, reports the Mirror.

Unaware of what has transpired, Joel heads to Price Slice where he thinks he hears Cleo singing from the window. Is he about to discover Cleo’s plight at the hands of Abe?

At the hospital, Leela’s labour is intense and she’s freaking out that things could go pear-shaped. Joel’s giving her the cold shoulder, too wrapped up in hunting for Cleo to pick up the phone, while Abe’s trying to calm Leela down, saying Cleo’s nowhere near.

Then boom Leela has a baby, all healthy with a strong heartbeat. She’s doing alright, but where’s Joel?

Joel finally rocks up at the hospital to see the new sprog, but the big question on everyone’s lips: Is he really the daddy?

Fans have been going wild on social media. One wrote: “It’s looking like Leela has either fallen pregnant with a random off screen or slept with Abe and it’s his baby? After the superb acting of losing a child this would be a step too far on Joel.”

Another chimed in: “Got a bad feeling Leela’s cheated/Joel isn’t the dad #hollyoaks.” Someone else posted: “If Hollyoaks have made Leela cheat on Joel i swear i’ll report them to Ofcom #hollyoaks.” A fourth said: “I bet it’s Abe’s kid.”

The couple were left heartbroken when they lost baby Noah before the time-jump. However, with their new joy, there’s drama brewing as Leela’s spotted in floods of tears, unable to stop. She tells Joel it’s just too much for her but is there more to her tears?
