Hollyoaks to provide Frankie update ahead of JJ abuse trial – Frankie’s Story Revealed
He will soon face justice.
Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks will provide viewers with an update on Frankie Osborne ahead of her twin brother JJ’s trial.
This month, Frankie received the news that the court has finally set a date for JJ’s sexual abuse trial.
The trial was previously postponed after JJ was told the treatment for his leukaemia wasn’t working and that his best chance of survival was a bone marrow transplant.
However, JJ now seems to be on the road to recovery and will be able to face Frankie in court after she donated her bone marrow to save him.
In scenes set to air on January 8, Lucas goes to check on Frankie after hearing that the trial is coming up.
Frankie confides in him about how much she needs her dad Darren’s support and is worried he’ll disappear again, after he vanished for six weeks before Christmas. Will Darren give his daughter the support she needs?
Hollyoaks producers are working with the advocacy group SARSAS to shine a spotlight on the issue of sibling sexual abuse, which has traditionally been under-reported.
Speaking to Inside Soap about the storyline following its announcement earlier this year, Frankie actor Isabelle Smith said she felt “privileged” to be trusted with it.
“I felt so privileged that they trusted me and felt I was capable of doing the storyline; it was an amazing honour,” she said.
“The only reservation was being able to do it justice. I wanted to give victims of sibling sexual abuse a voice — it’s something that isn’t talked about so it was important that they were seen.”
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
