Hollyoaks has confirmed a life-changing twist in the storyline involving Ro Hutchinson and Arlo Fielding.
Arlo has subjected Ro to horrendous abuse in recent months at school, with the situation worsening after the pair began to live together when Ro’s father Tony and Arlo’s mum Marie began a relationship.
This week’s scenes will see Arlo’s bullying intensify, with the character cruelly removing sanitary pads from the girls bathroom bins and stashing them in Ro’s bag, using the situation to spit out transphobic abuse.
In scenes set to air next week, Arlo will threaten Ro into doing his homework for him, continually taunting him at the park in plain sight. As the insults continue upon their return home, Ro eventually snaps at Arlo, with a fight ensuing.
Oscar, who comes round to give Ro some homework, gets caught in the middle of the drama and is struck down, with a shocked Diane entering the room as she sees Darren and Nancy’s son lying on the floor.
Darren and Nancy escort Oscar to hospital, whilst Diane gets into a war of words with Marie at the police station as she blames Arlo for the entire incident. Will his bullying of Ro be exposed, and will Oscar recover?…
The developments come after Arlo’s half-brother, Abe, dramatically exited the soap after being killed by Jez Blake, with the situation coming after his abuse of various women was exposed to the public.
Following the character’s death, actor Tyler Conti – who debuted as Abe in January 2024 – addressed fans with a heartfelt goodbye message on social media, sharing: “Abe’s gone – I’m sure you’re all chuffed.
“I just wanted to come on here and say thank you so much for all the support since the beginning of Abe’s demise. Everyone’s been amazing. I’ve loved every second of it, working with everybody at Hollyoaks.”
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
