Love is Blind has returned for its seventh season with singles in Washington, D.C., looking for love. The show’s first six episodes saw a bunch of love triangles unfold with seven on-screen engagements. One of those seven is 32-year-old lawyer Marissa, who amid a love triangle herself, leading to choosing one of the men and getting engaged. We caught up with Marissa to discuss what made her ultimately make the decision she did.

The two men vying for Marissa’s hand in marriage were 36-year-old Tech Salesman Bohdan and 35-year-old Program Associate Ramses.

First, Bohdan and Marissa bonded quickly over their love of reading and how they both served in the military. That said, Marissa stated she dated many military men and has been trying to escape that. Nonetheless, the two continued to bond in the pods. With Ramses, he was almost the opposite of Bohdan, which was a pleasant change for Marissa. The two share upbeat personalities that mesh well even with the wall between them. Ramses revealed he was previously married, but that didn’t deter Marissa.

While Bohdan understood the love triangle, Ramses said he was getting all in his head about the situation and needed reassurance from Marissa. We don’t always see the two people vying for the same girl in the pods getting along, but Bohdan and Ramses had a respectful conversation about the entire situation.

As you watched the conversations, you could begin to unpack who Marissa was going to pick. With one of the guys, the conversations were more profound and future-oriented. We all love an underdog story, but sometimes they don’t always win in the end.

As the conversations began to get serious, Marissa noticed she was inching closer to one more than the other. Even with the strong connection, Marissa breaks things off with Bohdan, choosing Ramses as the person she wants to move on with the experiment. Marissa explained to Reality Tea why she ultimately chose Ramses over Bohdan.

“The physical intimacy conversation Ramses and I had was really the defining moment that made me realize that this is the person I want to be with. The way he spoke about it and the questions he asked me made me feel very safe, and that was important to me.”

Physical intimacy has become a vital part of conversations in the pods. While Ramses provided the comfort Marissa was looking for, Bohdan didn’t. Marissa told us how that ended up bursting their bubble.

“With Bohdan, he didn’t really want to talk about that stuff on camera. I want the person in this experiment with me to really be in it and ignore that. I wanted to be in a bubble, and I felt like Bohdan burst our bubble a bit. Because of that, it was really hard for me to kind of get back in there with him.”

One of my favorite parts of Love is Blind is when our newly engaged singles meet each other. Marissa and Ramses’ reveal was about as I thought it would go, with both smitten with one another. I’ll be honest, the pair make for a great couple.

The next phase of the experiment involves the couples heading to Cabo. This is where we see if their physical connection matches the emotional connection they made in the pods. In episode 6, we started to hear Marissa and Ramses talk about how there were no intimacy issues and even bragging to others about sex. As you watch them together, you see how they speak about one another and the body language that they share electric chemistry.

The biggest test is what life will be like back home. Can Marissa and Ramses manage to stay in this happy bubble, or will family and personalities clash in the real world? With the current batch we watched, these two seem destined to walk down the aisle and say I do. However, after watching Kenneth and Brittany last season, it wouldn’t shock me if the home aspect interfered and all hell broke loose. For now, lock me in as a yes to these two getting married.

Love is Blind Season 7 Episodes 1-6 are streaming on Netflix.
