What Really Happened Between Love Is Blind’s Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis?
And what’s the truth about his “sperm donor babies”?
Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis’s love story got off to a romantic start on Love Is Blind, with the pair connecting in the famous pods and getting engaged sight unseen. However, their romance hit some speed bumps once they returned to the real world.
In episode 9 of Love Is Blind season 7, Ashley and Tyler had a challenging conversation that placed a question mark over their future together. But did they actually break up or make it to the aisle? Here’s what you need to know about Ashley and Tyler’s relationship and whether they’re still together.
Ashley found out Tyler has three children.
Perhaps foreshadowing what was to come, Tyler told Ashley during episode 6, “It’s a great point to meet me [now] cause you would’ve hated me.” He continued, “Just prepare [for] people [to] be like, ‘He is not that nice.’” Ashley further preempted any future negative rumors, telling her fiancé, “You never know who comes out of the woodworks.”
At the end of episode 9, Ashley confronted Tyler about some major secrets he’d kept from her. After learning that Tyler had fathered three “sperm donor babies”—two daughters and a son—Ashley told him, “I feel like we had such great communication and I don’t understand how two weeks before our wedding, you drop this kind of bomb.”
She continued, “I’m replaying and thinking of every conversation we’ve had where this could have been brought up, and I’m thinking, ‘Why?’” She also noted, “This is something I should’ve known before agreeing to say yes.”
Ashley highlighted that they’d discussed having children together “everyday,” so learning that he was already a father was a huge surprise. Following the claim that Tyler had been a sperm donor for a friend, Ashley said she should’ve been shown “the documents that say, like, I’m uninvolved.”
“I’m not upset by you trying to help a couple have kids,” she explained. “I think that’s admirable in certain ways.” Instead, Ashley said she felt blindsided by the revelation, and didn’t really know the man she was about to marry.
Rumors about Tyler spread quickly online.
Before the episode had even aired, the internet was alight with rumors about Tyler’s past. Notably, a woman shared a montage of photos on social media on October 7, which appeared to show Tyler with three children. The post included a number of eyebrow-raising hashtags including, “#whothrowstheirkidsawayforashow,” “#theylovetheirdaddy,” and “#deadbeatdad.”
Meanwhile, a Reddit thread about Tyler’s past saw one user claim, “They’re saying he has three kids & owes $30K in child support.” While all of the allegations about Tyler have yet to be proven or denied, episode 9 appeared to confirm that he has, indeed, fathered three kids. How the revelation impacted his relationship with Ashley remains to be seen.
What has Tyler said about his Love Is Blind experience?
Despite the shock he must have caused to Ashley, Tyler claimed he wouldn’t change anything about his time on Love Is Blind. “There’s maybe a couple conversations that could’ve been had at a certain time, who knows?” he told E! News. “I can’t sit back and wish that I could change something.” The father-of-three also suggested he was moving forward, telling the outlet, “I’m living in the present.”
In an interview with People, Tyler explained that he warned Ashley about people from his past because he’d changed so much in recent years. “Just because I was in a bubble before her,” he told the outlet. “So anyone that I dated, the slightest interest of not being serious, I was okay with cutting people off.” He continued, “I just wanted to let her know that’s the person I was but I came here to find love.”
Did Ashley and Tyler get married?
It’s currently unclear whether Ashley and Tyler stayed together and got married after their difficult talk during season 7, episode 9 of Love Is Blind. Despite not having any official confirmation, online chatter has suggested that the pair might have made it down the aisle, after all. But viewers will have to wait until the season finale drops on October 23 to find out the truth.
