When Monica read Stephen’s text sent to another woman, she confronted him. The two were planning to get married, and Stephen was set to meet Monica’s family to ask for her hand in marriage. While exiting her apartment, the Love is Blind contestant apologized for his mistake, stating that he can’t change the past. He said:

“I can’t do anything to change this, I will live with this. I truly am sorry for hurting you, for wasting your time, for coming on the show and doing this to you. I shouldn’t have come on the show.”

Love is Blind season 7 episode 8, titled Dirty Laundry, was released exclusively on Netflix on October 9, 2024. The episode synopsis reads:

Stephen’s journey on Love is Blind season 7

Through the pods on Love is Blind season 7, Stephen met Monica. The two instantly connected, and he decided to reveal his past mistakes. Stephen shared that he had cheated in his previous relationship by sliding into another girl’s DMs. Monica appreciated his honesty and was glad he had evolved as an individual.

In one of the episodes, during his time in the pods, Stephen said:

“I want somebody who’s not afraid to be imperfect — and who’s not afraid to call me out on being imperfect. That’s what makes things beautiful.”

The 34-year-old electrician disclosed his strengths as well as weaknesses while also sharing his political views. The Love is Blind contestant revealed he was interested in learning more and exploring his identity linked to his West African heritage. Soon, he proposed to Monica, and the two love birds got engaged.

The issues in their relationship arose due to different love languages, and Stephen was unsure if he could fulfill his promises and reach Monica’s expectations of him. The two drifted apart when Stephen was caught se*xting with another woman while being engaged to Monica.

The Love is Blind contestant took accountability for his actions, stating he shouldn’t have signed up to be on the show. Monica was hurt by his actions and stated they could no longer continue their relationship, so Stephen left her apartment.
