Love Is Blind Season 8

Love Is Blind Season 8: Alex Brown Was Right Not To Propose To Madison Errichiello (He’s Taking The Experiment Seriously)

Love Is Blind aired the first six episodes of the new season on Valentine’s Day, and viewers were enthralled by this season’s love quadrangle. While participants are encouraged to explore connections with multiple people rather than put all their eggs in one basket, doing so led to some drama.

Cinematographer Mason Horacek had connections with two Love Is Blind season 8 cast members, artist Madison Errichiello and oncology nurse Meg Fink, but Madison also connected deeply with commercial real estate broker Alex Brown.

Shockingly, no one in the love quadrangle walked out of the pods engaged. Madison and Mason’s relationship ended after she and Alex became official, referring to each other as boyfriend and girlfriend.

By then, though, it was too late for Mason and Meg, as Meg was worried she was Mason’s second choice and decided she would rather be single than someone’s backup plan.

Ultimately, Alex informed Madison he would not propose, claiming the two were “not at a point to get engaged.” Alex made the right decision at the moment, upholding the integrity of the show.

Some Relationships Need More Time

At the end of Alex and Madison’s pod journey, the two engaged in a conflict regarding Madison and Mason’s previous relationship.

Madison was upset that Mason had told her he was committed to her, only to go back on his statement as soon as she was committed to Alex. Alex, however, had already heard Mason’s side of the story and felt he understood where both people were coming from.

Love Is Blind Season 8: Couple Power Ranking From Episodes 1-6

Love Is Blind season 8, episodes 1-6 ended with five engagements in the pods, but not all the couples have an equal chance of staying together.

Alex had every right to defend Mason based on the information he was told. After all, the pod squad often grows close over the course of the experiment.

However, Madison’s concerns were also valid; she wanted her partner to make her feel better when she felt upset, not explain away her feelings. Can this type of relationship dynamic be worked out as time goes on? Of course. However, it wouldn’t make sense to propose without being sure that similar conflicts could be resolved.

Alex’s Decision Proves He’s Here For The Right Reasons

He Came On Love Is Blind For A Real Connection

While getting engaged sight unseen in the Love Is Blind pods doesn’t guarantee cast members will be heavily featured on the show, neglecting to do so does guarantee less screen time than the engaged cast members.

Alex chose not to get engaged despite forming a strong connection in the pods, indicating that the potential fame garnered from more time on the show wasn’t as important to him as approaching the experiment with integrity.

The Love Is Blind cast is free to continue relationships after the show, even if there’s no ring on anyone’s finger.

Alex’s concerns about Madison’s communication and attachment styles were valid, and he may need more time to determine if Madison is someone he can be with long term.

The two may communicate really well in the real world or discover they’re too different for a relationship to work. And, of course, they may part ways entirely after the pods. Regardless, Alex’s decision shows that some people do go on dating shows with the right intentions.
