The Team USA boat for Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark sailed a long time ago. But comedian Michael Rapaport still tried to drum up the notion that Clark should have been part of the roster that’s competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

During Wednesday’s game quarterfinal game between Team USA and Nigeria, Rapaport seemingly wished for Diana Taurasi to switch places with Clark.

“Caitlin Clark would be a lot more effective than the great Diana Taurasi at this point for the Women’s Olympic team,” wrote Rapaport on X (formerly Twitter).

Regardless of what Rapoport feels about Taurasi and Clark, it is hard to deny that Team USA is having lots of success at the Olympics with the roster it put together before leaving the United States for Paris.

Against Nigeria, Team USA dominated on both ends of the floor to eke out an 88-74 victory.

Taurasi scored just three points to go with four assists while finishing with a minus-1, but her mediocre performance ultimately did not matter. A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart took care of business in the frontcourt while Jackie Young shined as Taurasi’s replacement in the starting unit.

Wilson and Stewart combined for 33 points and 16 rebounds and Young had 15 points for the Americans, who will next take on Australia this coming Friday.
