Nick Wright calls out MAGA racists posing as Caitlin Clark fans for hateful and threatening words towards WNBA and Connecticut Sun players.
Nick Wright wants Caitlin Clark to speak up against those attacking WNBA players
The WNBA playoffs are underway as the best teams in the league are fighting to win an NBA title. But rookie Caitlin Clark and her Indiana Fever have packed their bags as their season came to an end at the hands of the Connecticut Sun. After the game, players and coaches spoke out against the hate and threats players have been subjected to by fans, prompting analyst Nick Wright to talk about it.
As soon as he had information regarding everything, he took to his podcast What’s Wright? With Nick Wright to talk about the situation.
The FS1 analyst clarified that he knows Caitlin Clark has nothing to do with the way these fans behave. In fact, he lauded her previous comments, demanding equal respect for all players.
During Game 2 of the WNBA playoffs first round series, a fan tweeted that some fans donning Indiana Fever jerseys were throwing racist words at Black players. One fan even wore a ‘Ban nails’ t-shirt along with fake nails, while another wore a MAGA hat.

Nick Wright suggested that these racists were destroying what Clark has brought to the WNBA this season. They are directly minimizing the impact Caitlin Clark has had on this season.
Nick Wright wants Caitlin Clark to speak up more
The analyst mentioned that it is just these fans donning Caitlin Clark fan hats to show their true side. Later on in his podcast, he talked about a method which can stop this from continuing.
He was clear that the Rookie of the Year did not ask for all this. She was instead focused throughout the year to improve her basketball skills, which resulted in the playoffs.
But Nick Wright feels Caitlin Clark needs to speak up. If she uses her voice to reach those fans and ask them to stop this hate towards her opponents, it might help. As even though the WNBA will focus on putting a stop to this, her voice might be louder than all those efforts.
The rookie superstar quietly ended her debut season and will probably prefer to stay away from the limelight for some time. Her head coach was vocal about the issue during their final press conference. But it might go a long way if she spoke up about it before it gets uglier
