Allison Barber, the President and COO for the Indiana Fever showered praise on Caitlin Clark during a press conference this week. The appreciation for the Fever rookie came after a reporter asked Barber about her views on Clark and how other US athletes could learn from her composed demeanor.
Barber started her speech with praise and appreciation for Clark following which she gave a direct answer to the question.
“Caitlin is one of one, I have worked with a lot of great people and I don’t know anybody like Caitlin. In that she is 22, she is a multi-millionaire, she is carrying the burden and the weight of this pressure on her shoulder and she is great with the media and knows how to handle each situation really well.
“I think people will be inspired by that, they will take it on if they chose to, they’ll learn from it but she is very unique, so I am not sure if just anybody could learn that. It’s part of her family upbringing, her Iowa roots, her coaches. They have built this into Caitlin.”

Allison Barber discusses Caitlin Clark’s generosity to away team players

Ever since Clark’s debut, the league has shown a meteoric rise in attendance and viewership. Barber revealed that when Clark saw that the stadiums were sold out in their away games she advocated for the away team players.
“When we would go to away games they would always sold out… After a few away games and all the soldouts, Caitlin asked the WNBA if they would pay spot bonuses to the away team players… so that’s the heart of Caitlin Clark,” Barber said.

She advocated for away team players to get spot bonuses and she never brought it up or tried to take credit for that.
