Caitlin Clark’s “modest” look sparks debate with Angel Reese fans at Taylor Swift concert

The World Eras Tour continues today and tomorrow with more shows in Indiana.

The WNBA’s historic 28th season ended with the New York Liberty winning its first championship, and I say historic because of the incredible number of records broken both on and off the court. Off the court, I mean the impressive ratings and overall sales (merchandise, arena sellouts).

From the day of the WNBA Draft – the most-watched in history – when future ROY Caitlin Clark was selected with the first overall pick by the Indiana Fever, the story of the league began to change.

It’s not that Clark alone made this positive change, but her arrival brought new attention to the already high level of play, which we hope will continue to grow and drive further demand to watch the best women’s basketball league.

Her presence put the spotlight on already incredible players like A’Ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, Sabrina Ionescu, Brittney Griner, and many others, along with rookies who joined Clark like Cameron Brink, Kamilla Cardoso, and, of course, Angel Reese.

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese Contrasting Styles

While I could write extensively about the recently concluded season and Caitlin Clark, what’s most important is what’s happening right now. Right now, the news with Caitlin Clark is that, like millions of others, she’s a Taylor Swift fan. And lucky for her, Swift’s U.S. tour wraps up this weekend with three shows in her new hometown of Indiana. Clark, 22, who, like many her age, is openly a “Swiftie,” was in attendance with her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery.

Fans couldn’t help but notice her simple choice of attire for the concert, drawing comparisons as almost always with Angel Reese, who often opts for the opposite style: high-end branded clothing.

I’m not going to tell anyone, especially a woman, how to dress, but it’s worth noting how their styles match their personalities. Clark tends to be more down-to-earth, reserved with the media, and this year she focused solely on playing her best basketball. Reese, on the other hand, is more expressive, “liberal,” and seems to enjoy being a little controversial. Her podcast, Unapologetically, for example, shows that she loves the spotlight, while Clark, with arguably more fame, stays under the radar.

Clark’s “Swiftie” moment in the concert

Again, it’s just a simple comparison – everyone is free to act and dress as they see fit. At the concert, Clark also participated in the Taylor Swift tradition of exchanging friendship bracelets with other Swifties. On the other hand, as I told you, the eras tour ends this weekend, the tour broke the record as the highest grossing tour in history, surpassing the billion dollar mark, something incredible and shows the fame that Swift has today, it would be nice to see her attend a WNBA game in the future like she does with her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
