Star power was on full display at the Indiana Fever’s win over the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday as Olympic stars Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas met Caitlin Clark

Team USA Olympic heroes Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas were all smiles as they met Caitlin Clark and her Indiana Fever teammates.

Biles and Thomas won three gold medals each in Paris, with the gymnastics superstar winning the Women’s Artistic Individual All-Around, the Women’s Artistic Team All-Around, and the Women’s Vault Artistic. The 27-year-old also picked up a silver medal in the Floor discipline.

Meanwhile, Thomas asserted herself as one of the stars of the Games with victories in the Women’s 200m, the 4x100m Relay, and the 4x400m Relay. The Olympic duo attended the Fever’s WNBA fixture against the Connecticut Sun to watch Clark, and they weren’t disappointed as Indiana ran out 84-80 winners.

Rookie of the Year frontrunner Clark also managed 19 points, five assists, and five rebounds against the 22-8 Sun. After the game, Clark was one of the first to greet Biles and Thomas backstage.

Biles and Thomas’ star power even left some of the Fever roster star-struck. “Damn,” NaLyssa Smith said as she joyfully skipped and jumped after taking a picture next to Biles. The gymnast appreciated the reception and said the women’s basketball players were a lot more excited to meet her than the men.

“They were so excited. It’s like usually the boys will just pass and be like, ‘Yo.’ But they were so excited,” Biles said. She followed up on X, saying: “EVERYONE WATCHES WOMENS SPORTS. So happy to be able to go support! My first of many WNBA games.”

Biles and Thomas were also present as Clark broke another WNBA record. Clark registered an 86th three-pointer in her rookie season in the WNBA, helping her to break a rookie record set by Rhyne Howard at the Atlanta Dream in 2022.

Clark missed her last three-point attempt. “I felt like it was in,” a smiling Clark added. “That upset me a little bit. But I feel like I’m taking good shots, and that’s the most important thing for this team.”

Indiana is closing in on getting its first playoff berth since 2016. They have nine regular-season games remaining, including another showdown against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Aug. 30.
