Caitlin Clark’s Injury Status Revealed for Fever-Dream Game

Caitlin Clark's Injury Status Revealed for Fever-Dream Game - Yahoo Sports

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark made her preseason debut last Sunday in a 108–44 win over the Brazil national team. The game marked her return to the University of Iowa—and she didn’t disappoint.

The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year put up 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

While that game generated plenty of buzz, fans were also eager to see Clark in the Fever’s first preseason opener last Saturday. Unfortunately, they had to wait an extra day, as she missed that game due to a leg injury.

The 23-year-old didn’t show any visible issues during Sunday’s game, though she was limited in practice throughout the week afterward.

“She’s been limited in practice, so we’re still very cautious about working her way back and really letting her body kind of tell her how much she’s able to do,” Fever head coach Stephanie White said Wednesday.

“We’re really relying on the training staff, and she’s making great progress.”

The Fever play the Atlanta Dream on Saturday in the team’s final preseason game, and the big question is: Will Clark play?

On Friday, Clark spoke to the media and said she feels good and is “excited to get out there and play again tomorrow,” indicating she’s ready to go.

Clark being on the court Saturday isn’t the top priority, but it’s an opportunity for her to continue building chemistry with her new teammates.

The main focus is being ready for the season opener on May 17 against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET.
